We get asked lots of great questions 

So we thought we would add our top 12 here                                                                  

  1. Do you have vacancies? If they are on our Programs page then yes we do :)                                                                        

  2. Where are you located? We hire 2 amazing locations Manifold heights Baptist hall Shannon Ave and outdoor playground & Fairley lodge hall Sparrow park, weller st Geelong west                                                                           

  3. What days do you operate? Mondays and Tuesdays Wednesday Manifold heights, Thursday and Friday Geelong west Sparrow park                                                                                          

  4. What ages can attend your playgroup programs? We offer 4 types of programs :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Tines Baby play n music is for birth-2yrs. Our  most popular session is Pre-kinder playgroup and is for birth-5yrs. Music n Movement is confidently walking eg 18months-5yrs ,we also have Pre-literacy playgroup 2yrs-6yrs but these are not running this term. You will find more info on ALL these session below.                                                        

  5. What is the cost to attend? The fees are $11 a week per family and are payable in advance per term.                                                           

  6. What do fees cover? Fees cover everything, Membership to the Imaginarium, weekly classes, insurance, fundraising, inhouse events and our big city wide events each term                                                                                        

  7. Is there any discounts or payment plans? Yes we offer 30% of for Blue pension card holders, NDIS families and Senior card holders who are bringing grandchildren. Payment plans are available before term starts and if you join later in the term can be organised by request.                                                                                 

  8.  Can FDC book in with their group, yes but only if Larissa approves it in advance for group capacity. please note this is at a higher rate then normal fees.                                                                      

  9. Can i put my name on a waiting list for booked out sessions?  Yes you will find a $1 application form to fill out on our booking page.                                                                                        

  10. Do you offer a trial session? Yes if at the start of term we have more then 1 vacancy we will list a Come n Try session for that group a few days before term starts.                                                                   

  11. Can we do a make up class if we are unable to attend a session due to sickness? Yes but you must arrange it with Larissa before attending a make up session. These sessions must be used during the term your booked into and don't carry over to the new term.                                         

  12.  Can I volunteer at the Imaginarium Project? Yes but Larissa will need to meet with you and talk over values, expectations etc You will also require a working with childrens check and commit to the year, in a session, school holidays are not required and your children can attend with you for free as a thanks for your time and commitment.        

Playgroup Class descriptions 

Tinies baby play n music

0-2yrs 

Tinies is a great starting place for your playgroup adventure. A specially designed space to engage parents in play and music.

This is a special time to bond and see how you little one learns and explore this world with touch, sound, smell, sight and some time taste haha

​

 The large room has activities set up and ready to try craft, sensory play, toys, books, climbing and more for the first hour.

​

Then we have a 20 min interactive music time with puppets, instruments, parachutes, singing, dancing, props, basic sign and bubbles.

​

Families are welcome to arrive before the session and enjoy lunch and outdoor play.

​

Activities include: Special occasions Orientation week, Easter extravaganza, Pirate week, Book week, Mothers and Fathers day, NAIDOC week, teddy bear picnics, welcome picnics and Christmas party included across the year

​

Session is held at our Manifold heights location on Mondays 1pm and open to Parents, grandparents and care givers of little ones under the age of 2yrs    

Music n movement 

Walking-5yrs

This session is highly interactive and engaging 45min program is for confidently walking eg 18months-5yrs.

 

We start with welcome song, xylophones, drums and other instruments and props, we then enjoy moving songs around the room as we explore music using a range of many kinds of instruments, hand puppets, props like bouncy balls, sparkly stretching sticks, rainbow ribbons, hobby horses, creative headbands, beanbags and action songs.

 

Then we sit to enjoy a interactive story time with big books and props and a finger song.

We then do some more moving songs and then

We end with epic parachute games and goodbye bubbles.

 

Families then head outdoors play and lunch with no need to rush off.

Session is held at our Manifold heights location 10.50am Tuesday  

Pre-kinder Playgroup 

birth-5yrs

This is a play-based learning program to be a stepping stone to kinder and school.

Each week we have a different theme so the activities change every week like Dino and dragon , Bugs n beatles, under the sea, Australia, rainbows, Kingdoms, Pirates, the farm

 

This is an all inclusive space filled with activities stations, craft, giant games, puzzles, sensory themed trays, dressups, kitchen corner, car table, light box for the first 50 mins

​

Then we tidy up and do 30 mins of mat time with interactive story, lots of instruments, singing, dancing, finger and hand puppets, and bring in equipment from our music program,  parachutes games and bubbles  to end the session

 

The indoor fun is followed by outdoor unlimited snack time and play with no need to rush off.

Activities include: Special occasions Orientation week, Easter extravaganza, Pirate week, Book week, Mothers and Fathers day, NAIDOC week,
teddy bear picnics, welcome picnics and Christmas party included across the year

Pre-literacy Book Club  

Many years ago I created this program with 2 amazing friends to take the edge off going to school by providing a fun, fast pace, interactive literacy session that was age appropriate 

 

This session focuses on developing fine motor skills, letter recognition, expanding vocabulary, and developing a love of literature.

 

Through mystery box of discovering the letter of the day, singing and signing and sound the letter of the day.

 

We then using fun interactive story time and singing explore the letter of the day.

​

After 25 min we then head to fun tables set up with creative  writing, playdough , craft, games, puzzles and hands-on activities children will explore letters and sounds together.

​

We then borrow books and take home fun activities to enjoy at home and head outside for snack and outddor play

​

This class has been developed by trained educators and professionals in the school system and early childhood sector and is ideal for children getting ready to go to kinder or school 2yrs-5ys . This class runs for 40min inside then outdoor play and snack time.

​
